Psychotherapist
Get to know Kristie.
Hello, I am Kristie. I believe that we can all find purpose, growth, and healing in life – and I am here to journey alongside you.
Grounded in compassion and authenticity, the very principles in which I strive to live my life, I believe in offering a safe and inclusive therapeutic holding space where we can journey together.
Over the years, I have worked with children, youth, adults, and families on issues such as interpersonal trauma, depression, anxiety, suicidality, self-harm, stressful life transitions, relational difficulties, parent-child relationships, and family/couple conflict.
My experience spans across social service and healthcare organisations where I provided clinical counselling and psychotherapy, mental health assessments, casework management, as well as court-mandated counselling and reunification work for families afflicted by domestic violence. I have also conducted group therapy, public workshops, and talks on emotional regulation, crisis management, financial literacy, and mental well-being.
My therapeutic approach is humanistic and integrative, influenced by theories in attachment, neurophysiology of trauma, psychological flexibility, parts work, family systems, and self-compassion. My former experience as an international business editor has exposed me to the myriad cultural nuances around the world and helped me gain an appreciation of working with individuals from different backgrounds and with varied lived experiences.
When I am not working, you can find me reading, dabbling in creative arts, jogging, cooking, or spending time with family and friends (and cat!).
